Companies doing IBD-related research
- Procter and Gamble, the makers of Asacol, have a web site called Living with Ulcerative Colitis. It's
intended to be a source of timely, educational information about living
with ulcerative colitis. You have to register but it's free. You also get a
free introductory membership in the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of
America (CCFA). They're just starting up, I guess, but it's worth checking
out.
- Centocor is a company which
produces one of the newer treatments for Crohn's Disease. The drug, called
Remicade, has shown some promise, but as more patients take it the results
seem to be somewhat less than miraculous. It's expensive, but may still be
worth trying.
